MUY GRANDE SPECIALS all day on Saturday, May 5, 2012, and two more events to make the day and the night really rock.

Cinco de Mayo specials from 12 noon to 11 p.m. include: $4 Corona & Dos XX; $5 Curevo shots; $6 Cuervo Margaritas.

It is also Kentucky Derby day, so we’ll be serving up $5 Mint Juleps from 12 noon to 11 p.m.

Last but definitely not least, there will be a young adult fundraiser in action from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Get extended Happy Hour pricing and an additional $1.oo OFF all the Cinco de Mayo and Derby specials mentioned above–Corona, Dos XX,  Cuervo, and Juleps–when you make a donation at the door for this great cause.

Seriously. Saturday night May 5, 2012 could be the most life-saving evening of fun that you’ve had all year! Maybe ever.

From 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. we’re sponsoring a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, hosted by Erin Kirkpatrick, nominee for LLS’s 2012 Woman of the Year. Erin has an awesome campaign going with a special focus on reaching her peers–young adults ages 18-39. Did you know that 18-39 is the only age group where the mortality rate of blood cancers has not yet decreased? This is just not okay. Erin is on a mission to change that and needs our help. When you plan your Grand Central stop  between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. (and remember you can Skip the Line!), you can support this great cause by making a donation at the door. To say thanks and show our support too, you’ll get extended Happy Hour pricing and we’ll take an additional $1 off all of our already low priced Cinco de Mayo  and Kentucky Derby drink specials.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and we at Grand Central want to do our part to bring attention to this important cause. On Friday, April 20 between 8 and 11, Grand Central will host a fundraiser with the DC Rape Crisis Center, the area’s leading and longest serving advocacy and support agency for survivors of sexual assault.

A small donation (or as large as you want!) gets you access to drink specials and helps a great cause. C’mon out and show your support with us.

Here is how even small donations can work together to make a difference in lives:

• $37 provides sexual abuse prevention materials for 100 school children
• $46 covers the cost of an hour of individual counseling;
• $105 will help operate the crisis hotline for a full 24 hours;
• $540 covers the cost of individual counseling for one adult survivor for three months;
• $1,000 covers the cost of counseling for a child and her/his family for 6 months;
• $2,300 covers the cost of a self-defense support group

Grand Central’s 5th anniversary is coming soon!
